Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski" postgraduate qualification in Educational Psychology is suitable for psychologists, educators, social workers, pedagogical advisors, resource teachers, teachers of psychology, philosophy, etc., and specialists working in social-educational institutions for children and adults, NGOs, and non-formal education institutions.
This postgraduate qualification is open to students and qualified specialists (with various educational degrees — bachelor's, master's, doctorate) who would like to work in a social-educational context.
Goals of the training
Within the SDK "Educational Psychology" program, specialists are prepared to be professionally competent in caring for the personality and mental health of pupils, teachers, and parents — to recognize well, and actively help overcome, temporary difficulties in social-personal, cognitive-intellectual, and motivational-emotional development; to consult and provide professional care when difficulties of various kinds arise (intra-personal, interpersonal, social, educational).
Organization of the training
The SDK "Educational Psychology" offers a 1-year program, delivered by highly qualified and respected faculty from Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski."
Classes are held only on Saturdays and Sundays, across two academic semesters, with exams given in two examination sessions (winter and summer).
During the program, current topics with a clear applied-practical orientation are presented and discussed across various subjects: Educational Psychology; Psychology of Personality; Motivation for Learning and Self-Regulation of Behavior; Social-Psychological Aspects of Communication at School; Psychology of the Classroom; Working with and Supporting Pupils with Special Educational Needs; Coping with Stress in the Teaching Profession.
Form of completion
The program ends with the defense of a final project; an officially recognized certificate is issued by Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski" for the supplementary professional qualification in "Educational Psychology," with the corresponding qualification credits awarded.
Career outcomes
Graduates of the "Educational Psychology" postgraduate qualification can work in schools, educational, resource, psychological, and pedagogical centers, as well as in social-educational institutions offering specialized care and psychological support to children, pupils, teachers, parents, and others.

Fees
Approved applicants pay the tuition fees by 02.11.2021 by bank transfer; a copy of the payment documents must be sent to Ms. A. Georgieva.

Classes will start in person or remotely (depending on circumstances) on 06.11.2021.
