The problem of anxiety is extremely serious and "modern" in our time. Ignored and left unaddressed, it can develop into an even more serious mental health condition or disorder. Anxiety stops us from being happy, taking on challenges, accepting that new and exciting job because it requires too much creativity or speaking a foreign language, traveling to new places, getting into new relationships, and becoming a better version of ourselves. It can lead to withdrawal and depression, cutting off contact with people, or even suicide. If you suffer from anxiety and want to take steps to manage it, here are 10 techniques and exercises:

- Take on activities that give you control and a chance to "lead the parade";
- Be kind to yourself and stop being so self-critical. Self-criticism is a common pattern in anxious people. Forgive yourself for the mistakes you've made and the opportunities you've missed;
- Meditate and let yourself stop thinking about anything stressful for a few minutes;
- Be physically active — "run away" from your anxiety with running, swimming, or whatever sport you prefer;
- Make a list of things you're grateful for, and add to it regularly;
- Make a list of activities, places, and events where you feel anxious — what exactly you're avoiding — and try in small steps to overcome them;
- Think of something kind to do for someone else;
- Share with friends and people you trust how you're feeling;
- Do creative activities like writing and drawing. You don't need to have any special talent. Just express yourself however you can;
- Seek professional help. Don't be afraid to turn to a specialist who can guide you with personalized methods and help you cope with this self-destructive emotion.

These techniques and exercises are just a few quick examples of channeling and treating anxiety. Everyone is free to experiment and find what works best for them. Don't hold back. Fighting anxiety is a hard battle, one you may often think you're losing — but in fact, every day you become stronger and more resilient.
I strongly urge you, dear readers, not to leave anxiety unattended. I urge you to take care of yourself, break the chains, and free yourself from this limiting emotion. Allow yourself to live and to be who you want to be — because we ourselves put up the barriers and limits within us. The sky is the only limit.
